GETTING INTO THE RIGHT MINDSET
Updated: Aug 27, 2018
It is a skill to be able to remove negative thoughts and focus on what you want to think about, so PRACTICE in training.
1. Get CONTROL and DIRECTION of THOUGHTS
2. REMOVE negative thoughts or DISENGAGE from them
If you find it hard to remove your negative thoughts use logic and truth to address them. If you are thinking of anything you have no control over, weather, fitness or opponents etc, accept it and move on thinking about it does not help.
3. Introduce positive thoughts
Define your goals. Don’t doubt your ability. Reflect on your preparation for the event. Stop looking inwardly this will make you feel insecure, look outwardly at what you will be doing. Focus on what you can control. Welcome the feelings that come with adrenaline, butterflies, feeling sick, shaking etc, the feelings will go once you start but the adrenaline will remain and help you. Ignore exhaustive pain it is our minds saying “Don’t you think you should stop?” Say “No” and your mind will then work with you.
4. ENTER the Zone.
I want be here
It is going to happen I want in
I enjoy being here
This is an opportunity not a threat
I have no fear of failure
I will do my best no one can do more
I don’t count only the process counts
YOU ARE READY
